Tower 4 - 2 meter EME
The tower is a HyGain
HG70-HD, a 70
foot crank-up. The antenna is an array of 8 each 8 element homebrew
yagis for two meters. This yagi design originated with W1JR and was
optimized for this specific application by VE7BQH. The yagi's have 12
foot booms, the main crossboom
is about 11 feet, and the vertical masts are about 26 feet. The tower
is limited to 50 foot max height putting the center of the array at 52
feet above ground. This is more than high enough to provide outstanding
performance on terrestial modes and minimizes the tower stress during
high winds.
